<Research interest and subjects>
Photochemistry of the materials related to optical recording materials is investigated in this group. The natures of the excited state and following reactions are important; therefore we apply basic organic chemistry technique and the stationary and time-resolved spectroscopic methods to investigate the chemistry. The mechanistic studies are useful to the design of the molecules and the reaction systems.
Our research subjects are summarized to the following 6 themes.
1. Photoinduced-electron transfer reaction of azo and organosilane compounds.
2. Photochemical decomposition of organic peroxides and organosilane compounds.
3. Comprehensive understanding of rotational isomerization in photochemical geometrical isomerization and photocyclization.
4. Photochemistry of photoinitiator in the initial process of radical and ionic polymerization.
5. Highly fluorescent materials having twisting structure for the electroluminescence (EL).
6. Photochemistry of Phosphorescent iridium complexes and their application to EL.
7. Construction of molecular wire using pai-pai stacking structures.
8. Photochemistry of supramolecules.
